About the Training Shelf

About
Who I am
My name is Emma, and I am a young swimming coach taking my first steps in the coaching world. Sport has always been a central part of my life. I competed at a high level as a junior, and that experience gave me a deep understanding of what athletes need from their coaches.
As I begin my journey as a coach, I am constantly looking for ways to grow. Reading, listening, and learning from those around me. Some of my most valuable discoveries have come from simple conversations with other coaches, who passed on a book they loved or a podcast that changed their perspective.
Those moments inspired me to create The Training Shelf. I built this space thinking about what I would have wanted as a young coach starting out, a place where knowledge is shared freely, where experience is passed on, and where every coach can find something that helps them become a little better.
Why the Training Shelf
The idea is simple – coaches helping coaches. By sharing the ressources that have inspired us, we can build a community where experience is passed on, and no coach has to figure it out alone.
